Well things are rolling along with the film festival, just over a week away, and things are coming together.
The Tipping Point is in my hot little hands, and the rest should be rolling in later this week.
Door prized are piling up and also the media is getting on board and there should be a few articles out this week.

On June 10+11 the Calgary Freeride Filmfestival will be showing four of this years newest freeride films at the Plaza Theatre.
Tickets are $10 at The Bike Shop and Ridleys, or $12 at the door.
Half the profits are going to Right to Play.
Doors open at 6:30 and the movies start at 7:00 p.m.

So with the latest film festival underway I had to find a good charity to donate half the profits to.
Last year the films that I showed money was donated to a few charities, IMBA, Canadian Paralympic Assoc., Team Diabetes, and the MS society.
This year I figured that the charity should be about the kids and education. So I contacted, Right to Play, a great organization that uses sport and play programs to improve the lives for children and communities in disadvantaged parts of the world.
What a great cause, and one of the coolest things with this organization is that they have some of the worlds best athletes supporting it. Looking through the list of ambassadors there is a lot of people I have met over the years. One was my childhood ski idol, I think I got about a dozen autographs from him when he was at the Winnipeg ski show when I was a kid, another was one that was coached by my uncle and father when she was starting out ($5 to the first person who can tell me who these two people are).
If you get a chance look at the Right to play Web site and see if you know anyone on the ambassador list.

Wow I guess I should post things a bit more often, my last post was way back in Sept. when i was showing the Six Day Bicycle Race film.
Well a lot has happened since that last post.
-Got Married (to the greatest girl on earth)
-Honeymooned in Cuba (not the best trip, but still good)
-Went to Thunderbay for Christmas
-Bought a new house in January and moved in 4 weeks ago (now I have a place for all my bikes)
-Been getting into photography and loving it
-Went on a great ski trip in March and had some of the best snow ever
-Rented out our condo
-And now I’m planning the Calgary Freeride film festival for June 10+11th.
So a lot has happened, keep checking back the next few weeks for updates on the films and their trailers.

six-day-bicycle-races-posterThe next big Up and coming screenings will be on Sept. 7th at the Plaza Theatre.
The first film is Six-Day Bicycle Race and is a Historical Documentary of the old track racing they used to have back in the early 1900′s that became Americas sport, drawing in crowds bigger that todays Super bowl.
The second film is Bootleg Sessions, a film project by a group of fixed gear enthusiests that are out to prove that you can always have fun on your bike.
50% of the profits from the film is going to the MS Society.

The Way Bobby Sees Ittwbsi-poster1Well the screening of The Way Bobby Sees It has come and gone.
There wasn’t the best turnout to see the film, probably due to the time of year and end of the Olympics, a lot of people were out of town or just trying to soak up the last few remaining days of summer vacation.
Everyone who did come was amazed at the courage and determination that Bobby has to keep his life and everything going despite his huddles he goes through every day.
In the end 100% of the Profits from the film will be going to charity, $50 to Team Diabetes Canada and $50 to the Canadaian Paralympic Committee.
